Startup and Preflight

This guide is intended to be a supplemental quick reference to IFT training and is not intended to replace in person or virtual training.

Follow all Federal and Local FAA rules and regulations


Startup and Preflight:

-Load the batteries and confirm they are awake (flashing green)

- Power on Herelink and GCS Laptop (if using) > connect via WiFi > Close all apps

-Open up the Herelink app > select the Remote ID tab > confirm RID is enabled > Power on aircraft , centering payload

 straight ahead and level > open up IGC on the Herelink

-Allow the aircraft to power up, confirm batteries are both fully charged and equally discharging by monitoring the mAh

 consumption readout on the controller

-Confirm HDOP is below .7 and at least 12 satellites per GPS 

-Check payload functionality 

-Perform pitch, roll, and yaw checks on the ground, confirm horizon indicator and compass direction corresponds with

 inputs.
