Mission Planning

This guide is intended to be a supplemental quick reference to IFT training and is not intended to replace in person or virtual training.

Follow all Federal and Local FAA rules and regulations


Mission Planning:

QGC and IGC can both be used to plan missions, both follow the steps.

-Click or tap on Plan > Blank, Survey, Corridor, or Structure Scan >  Select the Mission Start Bar on the right side of the

 screen and enter the desired mission altitude relative to launch (AGL.) -Select the Takeoff Bar and move to the planned

 takeoff point and then select “Done.”

-Select the Survey Tab and configure the mission area as required. 

-Select the correct camera from the presets or manually configure, along with overlaps, resolution, and turn around

 distance. Set survey altitude to desired ground resolution.  

- Rotate the flight lines and entry point as needed. 

- Confirm Mission and Save. 

-Upload to the vehicle via wifi: 

    -If planning multiple missions in advance, save the missions either to the controller if planning on the controller, or transfer to the controller via usb- A port on the controller. With the controller on, swipe down from the top edge of the screen, tap USB charging this device > Transfer files > drag the missions from your laptop to the IGC > Missions folder. 
-Safely remove the device and unplug. 

-To open on the controller, select Plan > Open > Tap the mission to open
