If unable to get the ground control computer and QGroundcontrol to connect to the drone try the following.

Restart the computer
Try a different USB port
Delete the USB driver for the RFD900 in Device Manager (if windows)
Always make sure to restart QGC when any changes are made, including unplugging and re-plugging the RFD900.
